G'day everyone!
I've only just found this site, I wish I'd found it a month ago! It looks extremely comprehensive and full of high-achievers!
Just to give you guys a bit of background...I've been in the workforce for almost 10 years working for a variety of companies including J&J and Unilever and have been meaning to do an MBA, just never got around to it. I've finally decided to get on with it and do my GMAT later this month, possibly on the 15th of May (it's easy to schedule here in Sydney). I've been doing the Kaplan exercises (all the online ones from Higher Score on the GMAT) and have done 1 practice test so far under exam conditions - I've also done all the practice questions on the Kaplan paper GMAT review.
It's been tough to find the time to do all these after hours but I really want to do well. I'm pretty confident of my verbal score (on the only practice test I did I scored in the 97th %ile and I finished with 25 minutes to go) but I'm having real problems with the Data Sufficiency questions - I never seem to get enough time to finish them, which puts me behind the eight-ball with the rest of the Quant section. I find I'm doing too much calculation and pencil work with BOTH statements and sometimes taking up to 4mins on a question! I know that if I'm doing too much calc work I'm doing something wrong - are there any tips I can have a look at which will improve my ability to evaluate and answer these questions quickly? There must be some trick I'm missing...
Some help would be appreciated! Cheers.
