The solutions are {-1, 2.42)
For G>0, the solution comes from solving G^2-2G-1=0
For G<0, the solution comes from solving G^2-1=0
For G>0, the solution comes from solving G^2-2G-1=0
For G<0, the solution comes from solving G^2-1=0
You need to check also 0 < x < 1. x = 1 is a solution also.
x = {-1, 1, 1+sqrt(2)}
