Hi,
I am applying for Masters in Marketing program in the States. I just gave the GMAT Prep 2 yesterday and received a score of Q50 V30 with a composite score of 660. I gave the test closely resembling the actual test structure.. Took 8 mins break in between however did not do the AWA. I just skipped to the IR. Though a score of 660 might suffice to get noticed in the admission process but I would want to ideally touch the higher side of 600s. Right now I am targeting a 680 or 690. My test date is scheduled on 15 October.
These are the prep materials I have been using:
1. OG 13
2. GMAT Prep Question Pack 1
3. Manhattan guides for SC and CR.
4.GMAT Prep exam pack 1 which I would be using later this week.
I currently need help in boosting my verbal score in about 7 days of time I have for my test. A jump to V33/34 would help me get my target score. Kindly help.

Hi ritigl,
Practice CAT scores are only as realistic as YOU make the process of taking the CAT. The more the 'CAT-taking event' deviates from what you'll face on Test Day, the more likely the score is to be inaccurate (and in most cases, that means "inflated"). By skipping the Essay section, you took a shorter, easier Test, so your scores are likely off.
Have you taken any FULL-LENGTH CATs (including the Essay and IR sections)?
Given your score goal and this likely inflated CAT result, you might want to pay the rescheduling fee and push your Test back a couple of weeks (so that you can continue to study and take a few more CATs under realistic conditions).

Please try not to skip AWA on the remaining GMATPreps. That said, your quant score looks really good. There is no set of one or two things everyone can do to go from V30 to V34, but could you answer some of the questions I've put down here?
1. What was your accuracy (by question type)?
2. Are there any concepts that you've not been able to cover or not been able to cover well?
3. Did you face any time management issues?
4. Were you able to concentrate till the end?
5. How many "silly mistakes" did you make?
