So I had 2 rounds of interviews, as I was waitlisted after the first interview. I am listing down all the questions that were asked during the interview.
- Tell me about yourself
-Biggest Strength/Challenge
- Why MBA, Why Now
- Why Germany
- Why Renewable Energy (or whatever your industry is)
- How will you contribute to the program
- Your experience of working in a team
- Your experience of working with team members who are not pulling their weight
- How will solve the above team issue
- what will your cohort learn from you
- what will you learn from your cohort
- what specific skills/knowledge are you looking out for during the MBA
- Experience in German Language
- If accepted how will you approach your manager/ongoing project
These are the questions that come to my mind while I write this post. The best tip that i can give is to prepare in a manner that shows you will add to the program and that you can adapt to your peers and excel in a team environmment.

I had an interview with a professor.
1. Walk me through your resume.
2. Challenges you experienced while working
3. Which field of finance are you interested in?
4. Any international experience?
5. Why WHU?
6. What could be a problem that you could experience while settling in Germany?
7.What could you bring in for the class?
8.What do you do to calm yourself/ enjoy yourself?
9. Something that you are lacking in
The interview questions were mostly about the tasks/activities listed on the resume/CV and required a detailed explanation.

2 members of Admissions committee - Megan and Melanie (Went for an hour)
Started with them introducing themselves. Then asked me to introduce myself followed by Why MBA at this point and Why WHU. They kind of beautifully clubbed this question around my career progression. What are my areas of improvements. Any constructive feedback you might receive from your peers.
Behavioral/Situational questions :-
1) How would your peers describe your leadership style
2) What role would you play in an academic group
Any questions I might have.
Told me that it will take around 1.5-2 weeks for the final decision.

My interview was scheduled on October 2, 2020 with the Head of recruitment.
It started with a greeting and followed by an introduction of the interviewer. She made me comfortable and we started a coffee chat conversation rather than an interview. She went through my whole application beforehand and came up with a few questions such as:
1. Why MBA and Why now?
2. Why WHU and not other schools?
3. Why Germany?
4. Situational questions such as:
a. How you will work with an introvert?
b. How you will convince a colleague who denies to work
5. What my family thinks about this MBA decision?
The questions and answers were connecting the dots and the answers were not limited to specific questions but to a broader view. The answers included from my childhood, interests, hobbies until my long term goal. I mentioned interest in Entrepreneurship and we talked about famous alums. Overall, I was quite happy with the things going on. I was confident in answering. What made me confident was to present who really I am.
Near to end, she asked whether I have questions. I asked few questions:
1. How WHU is helping women empowerment?
2. What steps WHU is taking for digitalization and coping with COVID?
3. When the interview decision will be released?
Advice: Showcase your strengths, admit your weaknesses and what you are doing to improve yourself. Do not try to make fake stories. Be humble, gentle and smiling.
