Hi All,
I have been admitted in Georgetown with some scholarship, HEC Paris with some scholarship and INSEAD.
I am professionally a mechanical engineer and have previously worked in the process industry and FMCG industry with an MNC with a total experience of about 9 years in Pakistan. I am now looking to go for a career in consulting/technology preferably in the USA.
What would you suggest I should choose?
I am in awe of the brand value proposition INSEAD has and sort of not clear on the HEC Paris brand value as it is majorly for France employment opportunities? Also as far as I have read, INSEAD is good for Europe and Asia but not USA. Georgetown is ranked in T20 in some rankings and has good prestige in the USA. Also the post MBA salaries present a trend whereby Georgetown>HEC Paris>INSEAD
Congratulations!
You do indeed have quite a variety and a spectrum of opportunities. What a choice
Insead is really strong in the consulting space. They get you up and running with the skills needed (presentation, delivery, interviews, etc).
I don't think it is in the same group/band as Georgetown. No offence to Georgetown but it is a Top 20 program and not the feeder into consulting or MBB's like INSEAD would be.
In terms of moving to the US, you are correct - going to a school outside of the US would deprive you of the opportunity to move to the US and get a job here. Nobody would be looking to hire a consultant out of Paris or Singapore when they can do it in a bunch of places in the US. So you have to decide what's more important and feasible: Consulting career or US Location.
One concern and potential consideration is ease of being able to integrate into a consulting environment, esp in the US where you would be over-qualified. Here is a post to consider:
