­Hi GMATclub team,

I'm getting only hard questions in gmat focus tests in gmatclub, earlier I used to get a mix of all questions. But now after resetting I'm getting only hard and few medium questions. This is for quant sectional test I'm saying

The way that adaptive algorithm works,

If you answer questions correctly, you get a slightly harder one and if you answer questions incorrectly, you get a slightly easier one. This is the perfect scenario. This is the scenario you’re complaining about. 😂

In the imperfect scenario, If the question database is depleted of certain types of questions, then the difficulty variation will be greater, you may answer question correctly and get an easy question because they’re just no hard questions left in the database.

While I understand that you would like to be served easier questions and we all would like life to be easier, but that is not how the adaptive algorithm works. Moreover, the scoring algorithm on the real test as well as the GMAT Club tests adjusts based on the difficulty of questions. For example, if you get a lot of easy questions and you make a single mistake, you may get a score as low as 81 because you simply have not answered enough hard questions to get a higher higher score… we have had a number of these cases reported recently from the real GMAT test experience. Whether you get easy questions or hard questions, you will have to pay the price.

Although I understand your point about GMAT being adaptive, I have made several mistakes in hard questions and still I'm getting hard questions. That is why I was asking about it. Let me try another exam and let you know the results­

­Hi bb,

I'm still getting only hard questions, I did three more exams, all had different number of right and wrong answers. But still I didn't get any easy questions

It may actually end up benefitting you. For practice, you are practicing only on Hard questions and maybe this will help you in the actual test which may not be that difficult as well.

­Hello,

I purchased the sectional tests for GMAT FOCUS on the gmat club recently, and I took the first test and I got only medium and hard questions. I am worried about the same thing happening in my next test and ending up wasting a practise test. Why is this happening? I have not exhausted the question pool as it is my first test and I have 20 tests left.

But if we get only hard questions, how will we end up completing on time? i Could only attempt 15 questions with 4 incorrect hard questions
