I read a couple articles about “over represented” groups for MBA Admissions and how it’s advantageous to apply in round one.
This got me thinking, as an Asian American male if subtle racism will be in play.
My startup niche is completely out of left field, in fact I’d say probably the only Asian who’s prominent (mainstream media coverage) in the particular field and definitely dealt with a bit of the “old boys club” mentality within that group.
Do they have race check boxes similar to the ones for undergrad admissions? Might just check refuse to disclose.
Will they lump me with the other foreign “Chinese” applying or do ad coms lump Asian Americans into the regular “American non URM" pile.
And perhaps for those URM's applying, is there further segregation (ie: URM Hispanic vs URM Native American).
Would appreciate the honest truth, even from an anon adcom if need be.
I do know my application won't be a traditional app (banking, consulting, etc) , so it may be a non-factor if they look at specific "niches" instead of a sole ethnicity bucket. IE: "Indian IT Consultant"
