Hi!

I'm looking to sit for the GMAT before year's end. I'm approx 10 years out of college and with a below average GPA but would like to do an online MBA from a decent school so trying to get a good enough score to overcome my lower GPA. I'll be starting fresh without much of a background so I'll need improvement in all subject matter. Cost of courses/books etc is not on issue. What would you suggest being the best approach?

Should I do Manhattan online prep? E-GMAT? Others?

Trying to hit a timeline of 3-5 months from start.

hello,

gmat official test makers offer 2 free sample tests on mba.com, i suggest you take 1 on them only to see your current score and evaluate yourself. keep the 2nd test after you finish prep to test yourself again. you can also buy 4 extra exams from gmat official prep if cost is not a problem for you but dont rush and take them these are the most valuable tests to evaluate yourself.

2nd step is practicing gmat prep official guides you can buy the books in paperback from any reputable library or online or you can practice them online for free on this link https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmac-official-guides-the-master-directory-links-240610.html

if you are still struggling i suggest kaplan prep plus 2020 for quantitative and verbal improvement, they also come with 6 good tests ,hints and good questions. if you still struggle in quantitative section after practicing kaplan and og go for TTP.

all the preps above cost around 200$ for self paced study so they are affordable.

so far these are the best preps that worked for me.

Manhattan is a good course, I've taken it myself

If you got some time at your disposal, stay active on GMAT club. You'll get kudos and stuff for all your posts and you'll be able to redeem your points

I'd rather suggest a mix of courses than just one

Start fresh with manhattan 9 session course for 9 weeks

Meanwhile you can join a self study course such as, Magoosh or Empowergmat

You'll build strong concepts as you move along and keep up with official material as you go

Just be sure to stay regular

Look at this link , you'd have a better study plan after you finish your course in two months
Don't use any official material other than the one they ask you to in the class,

Welcome to GMAT Club. As you stated , you will take GMAT by year’s end, you have decent five months to practice properly and prepare yourself. GMAT is not as easy as we assume. First, we will request you to visit our website: https://www.mathrevolution.com and take the free diagnostic test.

Apart from this, here is all that you need and what we will offer you:
1. A detailed study plan (We provide a study guide to all our students based on diagnostic test)
2. Reliable resources(Check out our free trial pack and free video lessons on our site: https://www.mathrevolution.com)
3. Unique, alternative approaches to solve quant questions in a short period, saving you time and increase accuracy and hence score.
4. Up-To-Date questions that meet GMAT exam trends. You don’t need to waste your time on outdated questions here and there.

Build your math basics with our "Math Review" (5-hour lesson). These videos are for reviewing basic math, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems. At your level, you need to go over these videos twice. We are sure that you can strengthen your basic math skills. However, we suggest you refer to these videos any time you need to refresh and master the basics. You may take an online course where you may ask as many questions you have, or you may consider private tutoring as well.

Regular tests will reflect the positive change in the score, and hence, your confidence will boost up. Also, remember that to score 700+ in GMAT, one needs this possible combination: V37/Q50, V39/Q49, V43/Q45
