Hello,
So I gave GMAT again….
My GMAT score in first attempt was 640 ( Q 46 V 31) - considering my background in Robotics and Master’s degree in engineering quant score was disappointing…
I gave my 2nd attempt after 1 month of preparation. My 60% focus was on quant and 40% on Verbal.
2nd attempt GMAT score was a surprise—-
620 ( Q 49 V 27)
Surprisingly this is the lowest Verbal score I have ever received in any of the test I have ever given including the attempt before I even started preparing…
My score on Manhattan tests was always above 35 and around the same in all GMAT official tests.
Not sure what went wrong, may be anxiety I guess…
I do remember having trouble performing very very basic mathematics calculations for first 2 questions in Quant section.
And in Verbal section- I just couldn’t focus at all and had to read questions multiple times to make sense out of them, and as a result I ran out of time and had to rush through last 5 questions- missing the last question.
Also, in verbal section I felt like just randomly marking the answers and finish the test asap… (apparently patience isn’t one of my strong suits )
So my question is -
Although my overall score is lower on 2nd attempt than 1st attempt, quant is much better. Considering this should I send GMAT score with higher quant to schools or send the highest score of two.
Just to give an overview of my profile-
I have 5 yo international exp in robotics field, masters in engineering from US university and bachelors in engineering from India.
Have a few research papers.
I was aiming for IESE and ESADE before my 2nd attempt but looking at my scores I am just looking to apply to ESADE…
PS - I will be reattempting after a month, taking some time off to change mind set
