Hi Swatia12,

First off, a 640/Q47 is a solid Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

There's certainly no harm in continuing to study - and based on this recent Official Score, you can pick up a bunch of points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. As it stands, with a 640, you're closer to a 700+ than you probably realize, but you will have to make some fundamental changes to how you "see" (and respond to) the Exam before you will be able to consistently score at that higher level. You could potentially retest in less than 1.5 months and hit your Goal Score, but before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

If you took your 2nd GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Hi,

Please find the answers to the below questions.

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
I typically study 10-14 hours a week.

2) What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
I had used the mocks of E-gmat and since I had used all the official mocks during my 1st attempt, I reset 3 of them this time.

3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Please find the break-up below:

E-gmat mock 2:630 (26 Mar,2021)(V31,Q45)
E-gmat mock 3:640 (01 April,2021)(V34, Q44)
E-gmat mock 4:620 (17th April,2021) (V32, Q43)
E-gmat mock 5:690 (05 May,2021) (V40, Q44)

Official mock 2: 740 (April 22,2021) (V40, Q50)
Official mock 3: 730 (May 09,2021) (V38, Q50)
Official mock 4: 730 (May 16,2021) (V38, Q50)

4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
honestly, I haven't decided yet. I am currently concentrating on getting a good gmat score. And planning to give the 3rd attempt within the next 1.5 months. Please tell me what to do next. How to improve my score.

Hi Everyone,

I started my gmat preparation in November 2020, and gave my 1st attempt in December 2020. With only a month of preparation, I scored really bad: 570(Q45,V23). I did not lose heart and again started preparation from scratch. I registered myself with E-gmat verbal course, Gmatwhiz Verbal course, and did the OGs which i did not do during my first attempt. After 5 months of preparation, I retook the gmat yesterday and scored only 640(Q47,V31). Please tell me what to do next. My target score is 700 and I have to do it within the next 2-3 months in order to be eligible for the January intake. Any advice will be highly appreciated.
