Hey guys,

Sorry for the very late reply. I took a break from studying as I was demotivated and worked instead.

I just got my date again for the GMAT (late February) and bought some study materials.

These are the materials I am using:

1) Jeff Sackman- total gmat math and 1800 math drills
2) Kaplan Math work book
3) Magoosh premium
4) GMAC official guide 2016

My GMAT scores from my last exam were:

Verbal- 20
Quant- 22

I ordered my performance report and it turned out I was doing well in both verbal and quants and messed up at the end as I ran out of time and clicked or guess wrong answers as I wanted to finish the exam. Anxiety is definitely one of the issues for me- something I am taking medication for currently I am hoping I can get a special room to write my exam in this time. One thing I realised while I was studying for my exam, I did not do enough practise tests. The last practise test I did gave me a 470 yet I still went in for the exam- worst decision ever.

I am also working right now but I am planning on to give 9 hours on weekend - friday/saturday/sunday and 2 hours each on the weekday from monday-thursday.

What do you guys think?

N

Hi Hello322,

Since you're back to studying, I have a few questions about what you've been doing over the last few months and your overall goals/plans:

1) When was the last time you took a FULL-LENGTH CAT (with the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Have you done any studying in the last 3 months or are you just starting back up now?
3) Is your goal score still 600+?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Hi Rich!

1) the last time I completed a full length cat test was when I scored a 470 (this was in July) about 3 months ago
2) in these past 3 months, I haven't been studying
3) my goal is 550 to be realistic as since I'm already struggling I want to be as realistic as possible
4) in 2 years- or this September I'm still debating
5) want to get into a coop program Mcmaster/Schulich

Have you taken a look at questions you got wrong to see if there is any pattern to what you may be doing wrong? Reviewing your mistakes is key to making progress.

Hi Hello322,

Since a significant amount of time has passed, it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test so that we can get a sense of what concepts you've retained. That score will also give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.
