Hi Bhushan,
Sorry to hear of your disappointment in your GMAT score. In terms of schools and scores, there are hundreds and hundreds of b-schools in the US where you can study for an MBA... so it really depends on what type of school, ranking, location, size, length, full-time vs part-time... many factors. Ideally you'd want to be as close to the school's average GMAT score (or above it) as possible for better admission chances. For top 50 schools in the US for example you'd feel better with a 650+; (top 10 schools would be more like 700+ for example).
Keep in mind that you can take the GMAT more than once! Schools take the highest score, and it's not uncommon to take it more than once. Consider doing some prep and trying again if you would like to try and improve some.
To view the average scores, they are listed on the schools' websites; or on sites like Businessweek, or rankings such as US News & World Report.
Good luck to you!
