Hi,
I have been studying for the GMAT for the last 5 - 6 months.
I recently took the GMAT last week and got 630 Q42 and V34. Although my quant score is in line with my mock scores, I was touching 37 - 38 on verbal on my mock tests (I got tripped up on an RC on the actual test). So I'm pretty disappointed to say the least. I used OG, VR, Jamboree books, did some gmat club sectional tests but found them a bit hard and also some 4 veritas tests ( I got 670 on the last one).
I feel I have a natural flair for verbal and I will improve with practice but quant is where I need to show some major improvement - I would need to strengthen my fundamentals and also become comfortable with hard questions. I need to improve my speed and also accuracy - I want to reach a Q48. I need suggestions on how to improve my score to a 700, with a focus on quant and regular practice on verbal. Can someone suggest some good study materials please. I plan to retake by 1st week of June.

Befor I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, I'd like to know a bit more about how you studied and your goals:
1) Since your score goal is a 700+, but you never scored at that level during practice, why didn't you push back your Test and continue to study?
2) You say that you have a natural "flair" for Verbal, so how did you end up studying for that section of the Test? Did you just work through practice questions or did you attempt to learn the necessary Tactics and patterns to score at a high level in that section?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
The GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. You'll likely need to invest in some new materials and learn/practice some new Tactics though.

Thanks for the revert Rich.
1. Since my preparation has been dragging on for some time, I felt delaying the test any longer won't help. I thought maybe I was in the phase where studying more wouldn't help. Ofcourse I know better now.
2. I attended Jamboree classes for SC, I apply the concepts I learnt and can recognize patterns quickly, on CR my accuracy would be about 80% whenever I would practice at home and actually I didn't practice RC much since I am a voracious reader and would mostly do well on the RCs on practice exams. I actually didn't practice RC much - that was my undoing on the exam since I was taking longer to do CR questions by reading them again and again and when I came across this long RC, I ended up spending too much time on it and didn't do well on it. I ended up rushing through 2 RCs on the exam.
3. I really wanted to apply in 2017, but now I am a bit flexible between 2017 and 2018 since I've got a new job. But that's exactly why I need to take the test in the next 1.5 - 2 months. I would be taking up this job abroad and it would take up a lot of my time, so I want to be done with the test before starting there.
Ofcourse, I now completely understand the importance of hitting your target scores in the mocks before taking the actual exam. I'm ready to put in the work required to get there. And that's why I'm looking for suggestions, given the level I'm at right now, How do I get to the next level?
