Hi guys,

I have a GMAT score of 645 and a gre score of 320. Planning to give again in the next 3 months - targeting a 685+ score on GMAT.
Considering that I will be targeting the next intake for MBA, which exam should I focus on? Is GRE at par with GMAT when it comes to scrutinising the application? Further, do top B-schools give equal weightage to GRE, or is the inclination still towards GMAT?

Hi Saumyaaaa_18,

I would say that 645 is a pretty competitive score - that's 90th percentile (88th technically but whatever).
And if you can push your GMAT up, anecdotally, that would have more weight than a GRE pushed by by a bit. The main question is what you can push up.

From what I have noticed GMAT tends to earn the most opportunities for Financial Aid.

Here is an interesting post - not sure I fully understand it but the idea is that a high GMAT Score can add quite a bit of value to the school's average where as a high GRE score does not add as much.
