Hi Aka39,

Thank you for sharing your profile. Starting with the stats, your undergrad GPA is good, and you have a solid GMAT score. You have not shared many details about your work experience on the work front, but I assume it to be good packed with leadership roles and impact. Talking about your ECs, yes, you can definitely speak about trekking and traveling. ECs are about to show different aspects of your personality beyond work. Speaking about these with the right passion will bring diversity to your apps. What are your post-MBA goals? Your post-MBA goals have a significant role in school selection. I'd like to learn about them. Also, b-schools do not consider your AWA and IR scores separately but rather as a part of your overall GMAT score. And your 750 GMAT score should be enough to compensate. So, my advice is to concentrate on creating a compelling, unique narrative.

About your chances, you stand a chance at these b-schools as long as you create a compelling case for the adcoms. You may want to read an article on how to get a scholarship for mba. This article deals with various aspects of scholarship programs with a dedicated section dealing with various financing options along with a list of compiled links to scholarship pages of top Business Schools. You will get some insights :)

Overall you have a good profile. However, I would like to know more details about your profile to gauge your chances at the b-school. If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and shortlist schools for you. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

I've been a silent spectator on this forum for the last 2 months and am truly grateful to all here(GMATclub was a crucial part of this journey). I decided to give gmat a shot earlier this year (around May) and now finally have a 740. It's a surprising score since I wasn't expecting a V44 (I'm an Indian so I guess getting a V44 is a stretch goal for many of us). Whereas I was hoping for a Q49/50 as I've never scored lower but unfortunately I took a longer break and lot a couple of minutes in the quant section.

I'm mainly looking to apply to MIT Sloan, NYU Stern, Wharton( dreaming big!), Yale, Tuck in the US and Rotman in Canada.

Some key profile indicators:-
1. Bachelors' in Chemical engineering from a tier 1 university in India. Decent gpa. (3.7/4)
2. 4 years of diverse work ex in one of the largest energy companies in the world + some kickass organization awards + leadership positions + recently got into a team lead role
3. Great acads prior to Undergrad(top scorer in school, college in few subjects).
4. Average extra curriculars + volunteering experience. Not much to speak here but can interest them with my trekking and traveling adventures which is my biggest passion in life.
5. Strong recommendations from current company(ex bosses)

Want to know if I stand a chance at some of these b-schools? And if I should hope for a scholarship from them?
And lastly, if I were to go for b-schools in the US which can offer me a fully funded program, which schools would they be? (I know they aren't going to be the top 15 ones for sure but just wondering/...)

Thank you for reading :)
