Can you help me with the below question:
In XYZ, unemployed adults receive gov assistance. To reduce unemployment, the gov proposes to supplement the income of those who accept jobs that pay less than the gov asssistance, thus enabling employers to hire workers cheaply. However, the supplement will not raise any worker's income above what gov assistance would provide if he/she were not gainfully employed. Therefore unemployed people will not have any financial incentive to accept jobs that would entitle them to the supplement:
Which of the following if true will weaken the argument:
C.People who are employed and look for a new job tend to get a higher-paid job than job seekers who are unemployed.
Can you help to explain why the above is the correct answer. I could not find out the reason to weaken the argument. Somehow, I am not fully understand last two sentence of the argument as well. Pls help to crack this sentence. Many thanks.
