Hello,

I’m taking the GMAT soon and was approved for accommodations since I have dyslexia. Part of my accommodations was being able to test in a separate room. I’ve followed the arrangement and scheduled a time in a test center, where I’d be able to take the test in a separate room. I’ve been wondering if, since I’ll be taking the exam alone, would I be allowed to read the questions out loud? Having dyslexia it helps me to read things properly. Does anyone have experience similar to that? Is it up to the staff? I just don’t want to get in trouble… thanks!

The only time you would have problems with reading aloud is in the home exam. I have heard of people getting accused of cheating (talking to someone else in the room) because of that. But in a test center, you'll be fine.
If you want more assurance, feel free to reach out to your test center and ask. Where I am, they are quite responsive.

Hi runningoncoffee17,

As long as you are not super loud, I agree you should not run into any issues when reading to yourself. Also, you can speak to the proctor, before you get started, to confirm.
