If your primary aim is to use the MiM to cover the gap, that may not be a good idea. The question will resurface after you complete the degree when you're talking to recruiters.
I'm guessing there are more aspects to this than you're comfortable sharing here. Here's what you can do.
Start working on your GMAT, since that's going to take time.
In parallel, look for a good job that's aligned with your long term interests.
Continue thinking about what you really want from the degree. Connect with MiM grads from your target programs and find out how students with experience have fared.
You'll have better clarity over the coming months.
