Hi folks,
I'm 35 years old. I have been working in IT for 11 years and last 5 years in banking technology.
Prior to working in Banking domain I was a technical lead and as I switched my business domain I'm again working as a programmer, not leading a team, so there is a regression?!
I have sound software knowledge and I want to gain more domain knowledge in finance and banking through MBA
My aim is to start my own company, which develops software products based on technical knowledge and finance knowledge gained though MBA.
Can my profile impress an admissions officer?
My main concern is that I spent 11 years in IT industry without serious progression vertically.
Anyway I'm attacking GMAT on 20th dec.

Your profile will impress every admissions officer - it depends on how you structure your application. In terms of the raw material, you are certainly there. Remember, not all growth is vertical - horizontal growth counts for just as much.
In my experience of helping b-school applicants, the way you structure your application is the single most important factor when it comes to differentiation. The caveat here is that you must meet the hygiene level on all other parameters (which you do). Go and nail the exam!
