Hey guys,
So had the worst experience with the GMAT At-Home! Have tried reaching out to the GMAC Customer Support and to GMAT Candidate Services APAC. (PLEASE let me know if there is some other body I should reach out to in order to resolve the issue at the earliest)
My test was scheduled for 9:45am and I logged in at 9:30 and completed my check-in. After a long and tedious wait in front of the webcam (I was falling asleep because didn't want to strain my eyes by staring at the screen), at like 10:40 a Proctor finally came, checked my surroundings and ID and started my test.
I completed quant and verbal. Then it showed me the options for "continue exam' or 'begin break'. Having read about the fact that Proctors change I messaged on the chat that it is now my 5 min break which I will use for 2 mins to visit the restroom and will be back (just to ensure any proctor who doesn't see me on screen does not randomly cancel my exam).
I then selected begin break and ran to the restroom and came back. When I returned it was still showing a buffering screen and no timer. This was weird as I was expecting a timer and my screen was frozen on that buffering screen. I messaged a proctor that this is what is showing on my screen and something is off. There was no Proctor who came for a while. In the meantime my screen suddenly showed an alert message asking me to close the browser and start over. This is a risk I didn't want to take without checking with a proctor as from my end nothing should have been closed to make it seem like I tried cancelling. Then on its own the screen after some time closed and relaunched, and I had to select the relaunch exam option. Again the buffering started. A proctor came and tried reaching out to him but he didn't respond. Another proctor came but took some time to respond. Then there was PearsonVue support at one point. All this time there was a continuous cycle of -
> the buffering page
> Alert message asking me to close and restart browser
> Automatic restarting of the browser and the relaunch exam button
> back to the buffering page
Finally when my last proctor came I had to explain the whole issue yet another time (it's very annoying that they can't see your chat history every time a new proctor is assigned).
She offered to relaunch my exam and I told her that's automatically happened like 5 times until now. Then she said yeah she doesn't have that option anymore because the relaunch was maxed out it seems. She said she'd have to revoke my session and created a Case for my issue.
I feel so stuck! I've taken leave from work for this and the one centre open in my city has no slots. I'm losing out on time for my applications. R1 is totally out for me now. Feels like the walls are closing in on me. Was really miserable when this happened yesterday
My boss has told me I can't take leave anymore because in the middle of a really intense case at work so god knows what'll happen.
Really hope GMAC can help me resolve the issue soon and I'm able to find a suitable weekend slot to take the exam!
