GMAT Book Suggestions. Please Advise!!

Question

I have purchased the PR Cracking the GMAT 2007 and I am looking to extend my GMAT study resources and I'll need your help here. I would like to know that whether,

- GMAT Premier Program 2007 Edition (W/CD)
- GMAT 800 (2006-2007)

are similar books OR two different books completely??

Also is OG 11th Edition completely different than its Quantitative and Verbal counterpart books?? Are there many questions over-lapping in both the smaller books and the OG 11th Edition?

Please advice.

I believe that the OG is different from the two books with no overlap but I am not 100%

Definitely get the OG and the other two books before anything else. Other than that I would say that Kaplan GMAT 800 is pretty good and Princeton Review is better than the regular Kaplan book.

I just need another overview on whether the OG books overlap or not.......otherwise why waste another $23 on two books....... And is the Kaplan Premier book and the GMAT 800 book totally different?? I have the PR book and its really good............so I believe!

No, the OG Verbal and Quant Sups do not overlap the OG11. They are shorter, but the questions are slightly, slightly harder... mainly becuase there are 50% less questions to cover the whole difficulty range. 

If you plan to take PowerPrep, you WILL see repeats from the supplements, however. 

As you know, the best practice it so use official questions, and you can't really do better than the OG books.

Plus, they aren't too expensive.

Some good books for you to consider besides the OGs (which are invaluable) are:

Manhattan Review Math Edition
Princeton Review Verbal Workout

Along with the OG, they really helped me boost my score. My first online CAT, I only got a high 500's on. when I took the test 3 months ago, I actually ended up getting 690! I studied for about 2 months. I didn't do classes, though I thought about it, but I did do most of all these books. Good luck.
