So I am preparing on my own( and on budget) for GMAT 
Have not booked my test yet, taking my time and want to progress slowly, but successfully.
Looked at this thread: https://gmatclub.com/forum/don-t-want-t ... 11878.html and this one https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-prep-on ... 82151.html
For now, my question is I can get an official guide(OG) from 2016( or maybe 2017, doubtful though?), would that be any different than 2018 or 2016 can be a good start?
I am also looking at GMAT Club Math Book v3 - Jan-2-2013.pdf and GMAT-Club-Grammar-book-2017.pdf.
So question from experts, is that a good start for a beginner or you would suggest something different based on your experience?
P.S: I am also mixing and matching some youtube videos in it too.

There's nothing special about the 2018. Feel free to use the 2016 or the 2017.

There is nothing special wrt 2018. you can continue using the old one. you can look up in the forums and there is a thread which has the differences between OG 2018 vs OG 2017 and that should do. I wouldnt waste money on getting 2018 if you already have 2017.
