Hi experts/aspirants,

Even though I have read tons of blogs regarding the 'correct way' to review the mocks/performances, I have noticed that I tend to repeat my mistakes.
Inspite of noting them down in the comments section, it is difficult for me to recall the same when attempting tests. Need help with the below :

1. What is the correct way to review Verbal performance? Currently, I review ALL the questions again. Analyse why I chose the right or wrong options and make a note of the same. Somehow, this is STILL not helping :(. During review, I get most of the wrongs, right. But I need a way for this to be visible in my performance as well.

2. For Quant, I try and re-solve the wrong questions without looking at the solution, only to realise that the question was simple to solve had I not panicked during the test time and not succumbed to time pressure.
My test date is nearing and I really need help.

Appreciate your feedback! :)

GMAT would have been a simple test had there not been a ticking timer! We all perform differently under pressure - some people do better but most of us find it difficult to give it our best.
The best way to handle this issue is by ensuring that you always practice under time pressure. Get yourself so used to it that it becomes routine.
Give yourself 10 questions-20 mins or 5 questions-10 mins every day. You won't have any time to waste and will need to focus. Analysis can take as long as you want.

Hi sharmashivng,

Both the Quant and Verbal Score 'breakdowns' of your CATs and the approximate dates that you took those Tests are relevant, since we need to better define your current 'ability level' in each section and see what the progression has been so far (or if you may have gotten 'stuck' at a particular 'level.' In addition, a lower Quant Scaled Score could be seen as a 'red flag' at certain Programs and we don't want you to 'rush in' an application if it's likely that you will be rejected.

To that end, since you know the specific Schools that you are interested in, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement.

There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

1) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi sharmashivng,

First of all, it's good that you are spending enough time to work on your weak areas. And the process which you are following is also right. Just make sure that you go through each step of the solution, identify the step you have faltered and then do not repeat the same. Analyze your though process during the time you solved the question.

And if it's the time pressure that is causing you to make mistakes, then take a few quizzes without any time limit. Use the right methodology to solve questions without worrying about the time. Once you start getting good accuracy and once you feel confident about the methodology, then you can start taking timed quizzes (Give a little more than the optimum time in the beginning and gradually reduce the time limit for each quiz). Focus more on the process. You are doing it right but add the above mentioned things and you will do good.

If you still face any issue or if the problem still persists, feel free to get in touch using the below link.
