Hello,
I am based in New York City and am trying to decide the best course to take. There is a Kaplan course which meets twice a week which is great for my schedule, but I have heard Kaplan doesn't really have the teacher quality that
Manhattan GMAT does. Does anyone have experience with this and can talk relative strengths/weaknesses of these two and which they would recommend?
Thanks.
I've taken both a Kaplan traditional class and a
MGMAT online course. IN my experience, the
MGMAT course was superior in every aspect.
I'm not saying Kaplan doesn't have good classess or material, but it's true the teacher makes a HUGE difference, and I've found
MGMAT does a better job with their teachers.
I visited a few Kaplan classes and found: a part-time comedian teaching the GMAT (was very funny by the way, but not sure if he knew math), an english lit grad student, and a couple others who didn't stand out in any way.
The teachers in my
MGMAT class really, really knew the test and the material. They'd taken it (which the Kaplan comedian guy admitted he NEVER took the GMAT but he'd been teaching the material for several years) and the
MGMAT teachers gave superior strategies on how to attack it.
Just my .02. I don't work for
MGMAT, but I'm a pretty satisfied student (and previous student of Kaplan).
