I started my GMAT journey early October and took the exam December 3rd (2 months of prep). My study plan consisted of mostly weekend studying (all day Sat/Sun) given that I have a loaded weekday schedule at work. I used portions of
OG and a heavy dose of
Magoosh (heavy focus on Quant). I received a somewhat disappointing 640 (Q44 V34). I say "somewhat" because out of the maybe 6 CATs that I took before test day my highest was 660 - I guess I was optimistic that I could set a PR on D-Day in the 670-680 range
Baseline Exams (first GMAT prep 1 was taken before doing a single minute of studying and first
Magoosh was taken after my first Sat/Sun session)
GMAT Prep 1 - 520 Q34 V27
Magoosh 1 - 530 Q34 V29
After preparing for a solid month, I took these 4 CATs in the last 30 days leading up to the exam
GMAT Prep 2 - 660 Q46 V35 (15-20 days before the test, looks like I had a lucky day?)
MGMAT 1 - 590 Q40 V32 (like
magoosh, seemed like questions were harder than real GMAT)
GMAT Prep 3 - 620 Q44 V31 (few days before the test, I didn't recognize any questions from GMAT Prep 1 so I think this was fair - should have done better on V)
GMAT 1 - 640 Q44 V34
GMAT 2? I may focus an entire 2-3 months to Quant and SC and try to push my score up to, realistically, the 680 range +/-20 points (aiming for the sough after 700 of course). I get virtually every CR correct regardless of difficulty and am streaky with RC, however, SC dominates me. Pre GMAT I thought I'd be a Quant guy but it's pretty clear that's entirely false.
