Hello everyone,
I gave my 2nd attempt in GMAT a week ago and scored
640 (V31, Q48). This is a slight improvement from my first attempt 590 (V28, Q44) in November 2021, though my target score is 740(Q50 V40).
In exam, i took verbal as first section. I was not able to comprehend fast in first section, and spent extra time on RCs. I had to skim and answer last RC, and had to blind guess last 2 questions. All SCs felt difficult, however like CR, RC was easy to read and not too difficult to comprehend. Verbal last section was mess of time management.
In quant last section, i had to guess 2 questions. I made silly mistakes in 1 or 2 easy questions.
In IR, i had the perception that timeout in IR is not punished, unlike in quant and verbal; I ran out of time in last 3 questions in IR, and got 1.
Meanwhile, I would like to show gratitude to
Bunuel for such tough and mind blowing questions in
gmatclub tests(i reset twise in 2 years, yet questions seem fresh and tricky),
egmat videos for SC basics,
targetTestPrep for topic wise tests especially for SC and Quant,
RonPurewal videos,
ManhattanPrep for mocks and books, and
GMATNinja for youtube marathons and amazing answers in gmatclub. For RC and CR and
KarishmaB for CR constructive answers. I mostly practiced official questions to improve my accuracy. Besides practicing GMATclub questions, I did nothing specific for quant, i am getting Q47 to Q50 consistently in
gmatclub tests. In verbal, however, score was very inconsistent from v30 to v36.
I will retake exam in november end, before round 2. I have attached my ESR, so I would appreciate any suggestions as to what my next steps should be. Whether I should focus more on the quantitative or simply focus on the verbal, and in which section SC, CR, or RC. Anything you've noticed from my ESR that I can improve or enhance. Any small suggestion will be a significant help. Thanks in advance.
