The questions are arranged in sections in an increasing difficulty order - the first question is always 600-650 level, mid question is 700 level, and the last question is 750 level. If you are in a hurry, you can take either all easy or medium, or all hard questions only. Instead of 45 questions, you can only take 15 and leave the rest for later. Taking the test You should spend a maximum of 90 minutes answering 45 questions or if you are taking fewer then plan to spend on average 2 minutes per question Where are the questions from? The questions have been developed by very experienced and high scoring GMAT Club members Are the questions copyrighted? Why save it for final day?

The diagnostic test should be used in order to identify your weaknesses. After you know your weakest areas, you can work to improve them.

this is SOOOOOOOOO helpful

although I found the test HARD and was wondering if ALL were 700+ levels halfway through.
and I am 1000 questions deep into prep.

The only thing I could say, Holy Mother of God, that exam was quite hard. I was able to do about 32 out of the 45 in 90 minutes. Ofcourse I had only completed the Kaplan book's math section (will start OG12 this weekend) and having an engineering background I thought lets see kitne paani mai hai (translation: hindi idiom for where I stand)

Clearly I have miles to go.

There is no Verbal diagnostic similar to this one. You can try the Idioms test:

Hey guys...thanks for the good work.. I have to admit this set helped me gain a new perspective on my quant preparation...
I have always had a good math aptitude...scored a perfect 800 in GRE quant...so i was being over confident and not paying much attention to the GMAT math...
Your test brought me back down to earth...i could only get 35/45...was frustrated by the end...and did take some 15 more minutes than allocated....phew...
But thanks again ... great job...

i was able to get 32 right out of 45.
Not sure if that would ring any bells of my ability in quant.
On top of that, i did not follow the timer on most of the occasions.
Way to go

But it was a great great test of quant skills

Hi

Thanks for posting the test. I am about to start with my GMAT prep. I took the test and got 35/45. How good/bad is it for starters?

Also, should I start with the OG first or Manhattan GMAT ( I dont have one yet!)??

Hi BB,

Thanks for the post. I'm new to this forum. Do you also have similar diagnostic test for verbal? I had taken gmat 4 years back. 680 (less than 2 months prep. only OG, kaplan800, and gmatprep cat). I didn't apply to many schools as I was disappointed. Now I'm decided to give it another shot. Here's my study plan. Please advice.

1) OG12
2) Kaplan premier 2011 + adaptive tests
3) MGMAT online tests & Q bank (shall buy online)
4) MGMAT SC,CR,RC guide (I've some old copies)
5) PowerScore CR as reference
5) GMAT prep cat
6) GmatPill online

Can I forgo few of the books if I take GmatPill? I've a demanding job.
I'm weak in verbal and AWA.

Engg. graduate. 9+ years exp.
Intend to take the exam in May end.
target score: 750

Please advise.

I just took the diagnostic test....some of the questions I did are different that those listed here in the "Index of Diagnostic Test Questions, Explanations, and Discussion" and the thread containing all of the answers and their ratings.

examples are 40,43, 45(wording), 24 (wording in statement 1)

I took the diagnostic test today, timed myself and solved first 15 questions, only 5 came out correct.
Can any1 suggest how to practice maths section to score
