Hey there,
Can someone please help me understand why my solution to a given problem did not yield the correct answer?
I read the solution, to the problem and understood the solution. I just overlooked something while solving the problem. I tried a different method (a longer one) but failed to produce the same answer. I can't seem to find anything wrong with my solution. Even though I used a longer method, it should have yielded the same answer, but somehow it did not.
Can someone please help me see why my solution is incorrect (attached)? I know this is a relatively easy question, but I can't stop thinking about why my method does not work.
Question:
Which of the following question is equivalent to (A^100 - b^100)/(A^50 - b^50)
My Solution:

Answer: A^50 + B^50
