As I had mentioned earlier in my posts you have to acquaint yourself with some "Good" boring long winding articles on the net. Read the editorials of NY times, Washington post and Yahoo business. More than reading speed, RC requires a good comphrehension of the passage. Once you understand the passage well you will see that the avg time spent on RC will be abt 2 mins. Now let me be clear here.
Spending an avg of 2 mins does not mean you read fast. For example lets consider an RC that has 4 questions. Now as per the 2 min avg, you have to spend abt 8 mins for the entire. See the RC in its entirety and not as individual questions. Now lets say you spend 5 mins just to read and comprehend. Once you comprehend well the 4 following questions will not take more than 3 mins to answer. The trick here is to not fall for the trap of lost time while reading. Do not think that you are losing time if you have to read the passage again. This is the trap that GMAT wants you to fall for. Read the passage objectively. Remember RC provides the best opportunity to get a chunk of questions right. Remember you will always be able to make up time in SC and to an extent in CR. So do not panic in RC. See the verbal as a whole. You will save time in SC and CR and you will also be able to save time on some small passage RC. I got two 2 small passage, 1 medium size passage and one long winding RC. I think you are more worried abt that long winding RC. Instead be positive that you will save time in SC, CR and the small RCs. And to get this mental assurance, you
HAVE to only practice.
Hope this helps
