I haven't found anything already posted about this, so I thought it might be of value to ask.
One of my biggest problems on standardized tests has to do with getting tired after the first hour or so. I haven't taken the GMAT yet, but when I took the GRE, a lot of times, I would be so tired of thinking I would just choose anything. My lack of test endurance was without a doubt the thing that cost me the most. I still broke 700 in both categories, but just barely. I want to really be prepared for the GMAT.
Now I've noticed that the GMAT sections last even longer than the GRE. Does anyone have any advice? PLEASE!?!
start taking practice CATs, AWA section and all, ASAP.
You NEED to be able to stay focused for nearly 4 hours. Your score will suffer horribly if you lose focus and 'choose anything'.
When doing prep, do it in big blocks at a time... preferably at least 75 minutes.... but shoot for 75 min session / 5 minute break / 75 min session. you want to try and emulate the exam structure, even when you aren't taking a CAT. don't do practice problems relaxed while you lay in bed... sit at a desk... etc.
after a month of this, you will get used to it, and it will become less of an issue.
