Hi arjubhat,
I'm sorry to hear that your Official GMAT did not turn out better. Many GMATers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. If you answered just 22 of the 36 Verbal questions on Test Day (re: you ran out of time and didn't even blindly guess on those last 14 questions), then the overall penalty for not finishing the Verbal section would have been significant.
Assuming that you're planning to continue with your studies, before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) Your profile includes a 550 GMAT Score, so have you taken the GMAT 2 (or more) times or just the 1 time?
2) How long have you studied in total (and have you continued studying since you took the GMAT)? How many hours did you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
Goals:
5) What is your overall goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
