I took my GMAT yesterday. After months of practice, I was naturally nervous after reaching the test center and going through all the pre-exam proceedings. I can feel my heartbeat pumping as D-day was there. I went to the washroom before entering the exam room. I saw a sign that said - "Please don't throw tissues in the toilet or the floor" and my immediate thought was how that sentence had a parallelism error :p
I started smiling about the situation and I realized how much I have been immersed in practicing different aspects of the test. This did divert my attention from the nervousness and maybe helped me calm down a bit.
Just wanted to share this weird but relevant experience with fellow aspirants and hope you are able to calm yourself down before the exam to give your best performance.....
