Don't know how it happened but it somehow did. Took the GMAT this morning and scored a 745 (88Q, 88V, 85DI). This is exactly a month after taking it and getting a 655 (82Q, 86V, 79DI). Funny thing is, I took a month off from work for the 655, and was studying on the side of work for the 745. For my initial attempt I focused on TTP (which was super helpful for baseline knowledge, but I do think to an extent the course has too much depth to be super applicable to short-term studying for the GMAT unless you want to grind it for 4-6 months) + OG problems. My score was almost equivalent to my dry first mock (645), which I was shocked by as i was averaging around a 675-705 on mocks. I think it was really 1) bad test habits (not bailing questions when I needed to) and 2) i was just going through the motions when doing questions versus really analyzing why I got things wrong. I also did minimal DI prep since I was doing really good on DI during mocks (never scored <83 prior to first real GMAT FE attempt). Really what helped me the most between my two exams was was for quant - GMAT Clubs practice tests - their math questions are really good (but very hard - I did these tests without any time pressure). Their analytics is also super helpful too. For DI - I just grinded the OG / review / problem packs for DI. I focused on just doing one subject at a time (GI, then TPA, then MSR, then table analysis). Verbal was luckily always a strong area for me. I think realistically it comes down to logically going from right to wrong, and learning the different parts of an argument (I recommend
Manhattan prep here).
