Hi pz4x09,

The PhD application process tends to be a bit more 'rigorous' than the MBA application process is - since there tends to be a small group of highly qualified applicants competing for a relatively small number of PhD 'slots.' As such, beyond having a strong GMAT Score, you'll need a strong OVERALL profile and you'll need to properly 'market yourself' to each individual Program that you apply to. It's possible that your IR1 won't impact your applications at all, but considering the fact that we're dealing with PhD Programs, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

If you do choose to retake the GMAT, then we have to examine your prior studies in more detail. Once you've decided on whether to retest or not, you should post back here (or you can PM me directly) and we can discuss how you might best proceed with your studies.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi Rich,
Thanks for comprehensive reply on my query. I would definitely like to present my best score to Adcoms, so I will take the test again.

Coming to my prior studies, I am an MTech from NIT Warangal and worked with Delphi automotive systems for more than 3 years and currently working as Civil servant for Government of India for more than 5 years. And I also did some preliminary work related to my research. I will PM you separately to talk more on the applications.
Thank you
Best regards
