Hi user1937.

I think you'll get better results if you do more of your practice untimed. By practicing untimed, you'll give yourself time to learn to see the angles of practice questions and find efficient ways to answer questions.

Untimed, high-accuracy practice tends to work best, partly because the skills you develop in shooting for high accuracy end up supporting speed as well.

Thanks Marty. Let me try this methodology.

user1937 - DI82 is 90th percentile. Given the high percentile, mistakes on easy questions can lead to drastic score reductions. Honestly, you have a lot more headroom on Verbal. To score 705+, I would recommend improving two points in Verbal for every point in DI.

To help provide more tailored advice for your continued improvement, could you please answer the following questions?

What were your L20 stats on the Scholaranium platform?
What are your journey grades?
Where do you suffer the most in DI - DS, GITA, TPA, or MSR? (My guess is TPA and MSR)
What were your scores on the SIGma-X mocks?

Your insights on these questions will help us understand your strengths and areas for improvement more clearly, allowing for more targeted advice on your GMAT preparation journey.
Hi egmat.

- I don't what L20 stats are but I am attaching some screenshots from the question bank.
- Journey grades? - Don't know that either
- I was equally good/bad and equally comfortable/uncomfortable with all of them. DS was the strongest but surprisingly I got the least score in DS in the real GMAT.
- I never gave any Sigma-X mocks.

Yes, I felt I did poorly in Verbal in the real test for some reason. Though on just checking the ESR, I came to know that I got 5 questions wrong. In my mocks when I got 5 questions wrong, I used to get V83 or v84.

As per mocks, I was getting 5-6 questions wrong in Verbal. And scores ranged from V82-V84.

I am attaching my ESR screesnhots too.

Hi user1937,

When students struggle with DI questions, the first thing I always ask is whether they have fully completed their quant and verbal prep. Not doing so can really affect how well you handle DI questions, as many of those questions involve quantitative and verbal concepts. So, would you say you are in that boat?

In addition, one way to improve each individual DI question type is to engage in topical practice. Doing so lets you pinpoint your weak areas in JUST ONE question type. For example, when practicing TPA questions, perhaps you see a pattern that you struggle with 3-part ratios or weighted averages. If you can find those micro weaknesses, you can fix them in real-time and thus improve your accuracy in DI questions..

Lastly, when working on DI questions, for the time being, make sure to practice them untimed so you can focus on JUST accuracy. As you become more familiar with these question types and get more accurate, better timing will follow.

Hi Scott. Thanks for the advice. I do not seem to have conceptual problems, and so for most part it is not the lack of Quant and/or Verbal weakness.

I have never done or thought about each question type in isolation. This micro level practice sounds like a good diagnostic and improvement method to me. Must try it. If asked right now for 1 specific topic within DI that I would identify as a weakness, I wouldn't be able to answer it.

I know this thread was for a different purpose but if you wouldn't mind, can you please let me know what to do if I have exhausted all official mocks for my 1st attempt.

Thanks.

No, I haven't. I only reperated mocks 1 and 2. I just recently found out that even other mocks can be repeated too. Will do that. Thanks.
