Hello Folks,

Recently gave the GMAT focus (2nd attempt. In 2022 gave the classic GMAT exam and got 720). Got the following score -

Total Score - 715 (99th percentile)
QA - 88/90 (95th percentile)
VR - 85/90 (96th percentile)
DI - 84/90 (98th percentile)

Just wanted to get your opinion on whether this would be considered a good enough score for M7 and T15 in totality.

As far as prep is concerned, TTP helped me a great deal in clearing my concepts and I used their question banks as mini quiz capsules which helped me with time management. Later, I attempted the official mock exams. One key observation is that the number of questions I answered incorrectly in DI and VR was higher as compared to mock attempts, but still, the percentile didn't dip by how it would have been in the mocks. Perhaps it's coz of the adaptive nature of the exam.

Seeking your guidance on how I should move forward with the application process. I have managerial work experience and from the beginning have led teams in different areas spanning across Compensation, Performance Management, Change Management and have worked on automation projects across 2 organisations. Currently working in Unilever.
_kshitij_ Congratulations on the very impressive score. Speaking about the score alone, yes, it's a very competitive score for the T20 and M7 schools. Admissions committees evaluate your scores against your peers from the same population, using a normalized curve. For example, a quant score around the 80th percentile may be considered borderline for overrepresented demographic groups at top business schools. Since your quantitative score exceeds this threshold by a great margin, the admissions committee is confident in your ability to handle the academically challenging curriculum. On the other hand, your verbal score reflects your potential to participate effectively in discussions within a truly global and diverse cohort, especially at schools like the M7s or T15.

Having commented on the GMAT, it's still a bit presumptuous to comment on the odds for M7s specifically. I like that you are currently employed with Unilever, which is a strong global brand, but in order to comment on the right schools for you, we need to know more about your career growth trajectory and post MBA aspirations. It does seem that you have a slightly underrepresented background in Human Resources, which can be a great thing. But honestly, there are too many gaps currently to comment on the right target schools. Feel free to connect should you want professional advice.
