EMPOWERgmatRichC,
Thanks for your comment.
If there are a lot of questions from other material already published by OfficialGMAT how will my score be accurate predictor? I have already thoroughly studied the OGs and kind of know the answers for many OG questions.

Hi Nina1987,

I asked in a prior post if you had taken any CATs yet (and how you scored), but you didn't answer those questions. Thus, I'll ask them again...

1) Have you taken any CATs yet? How have you scored (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Hi OfficialGMAT,

Just wanted to check if the 4 focus diagnostic tests contain question from previous editions of Official Guides such 10, 11, 12 editions or paper tests?
It is not very clear on mba dot com. It only says the following "Take up to four exams without seeing repeat questions!"

Thanks

Hello,

If you are referring to the diagnostic tests in the beginning of The Official Guides, yes, they are all the same. The diagnostic exams in the front of the guides does not change. However, the questions in the guides do not overlap with any other GMAT study product.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Thanks,
Jeremy

In that case, no the Focus tool does not contain questions that previously appeared elsewhere. There is no overlap in the items in this tool with the OG guides.

Hi Nina,

Good question. I like the GMAT Focus but it can be a bit annoying for people who have worked through the older guides to deal with the repeats: there is overlap between GMAT Focus and previous versions of the Official Guides. The good news is that with OG 13th Edition a lot of the overlap was eliminated and with the 2016 editions there doesn't seem to be any remaining overlap. The Official Guide 12th Edition has a bunch of overlap as do earlier books. GMAT Quantum has an awesome breakdown of all of this: https://www.gmatquantum.com/og12problemsolving/ and here is a post with strategies for using GMAT Focus

Hope this is helpful!

Happy Studies,

A.

Good to know - will follow up if I come across more overlaps in the 2016 guides.

Thanks for your reply Dabral. I will stay away from Focus then unless these overlaps are removed. Thanks
