Hi all,
I am an engineer and working in MNC company for the past 2 years. I am planning to give GMAT exam.
I am good in Maths but weak in English (grammer).
i need to know what is the best month to start prep for exam.
I am aiming between 750 - 800 score.
i prefer self study over coaching classes.
i am also aiming for top 10 MBA schools & cannot afford the fees so scholarship is also required.
i am going to resign from my current employers in Oct end.
Kindly suggest how should i prepare for exam, when should i give test, and when is the right time to apply to schools & details about scholarships.

Based on what you've written, there are a number of different 'issues' to consider (and many of them are details that YOU have to define):
1) It's not clear when you want to apply to Business School and it's not clear if you have any specific Schools/Programs in mind. Defining these details will help to define the timeframe that you have to work in and the specific tasks that you will need to complete.
2) If you haven't started studying yet, a 750+ score goal might be a challenge. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) to hit their 'peak' scores, so you have to consider the amount of time that you'll need to commit to studying.
3) Quitting your job is probably NOT a great idea, but you can decide how long you can go without having an income.
Considering that we're nearing the end of September, and you would have to get so much done to make the upcoming Round 2 deadlines, it might be in your best interest to plan to apply to Business School NEXT year (in Round 1 or Round 2). In this way, you would have plenty of time to study for the GMAT, research Schools, plan your applications, etc. and put together the strongest application possible.

based on your reply comments are given below.
1) I want to consider scholarship programme so next year (Round 1 or 2) i will apply for B schools. And i haven't shorlisted any schools yet.
2) I already studied most of the Math section so nw i have one more year to study the rest.
3) I cannot give any time to study because of the job pressure and tiredness. I am a mechanical engineer so it is 12 hour job and 14 to 15 hour with travel time. so there is very less time to study.
and thank you very much for suggestion.
and i am studying from Manhattan Gmat guide books 2013 edition, hope there is no issue in that.
further i want to first complete this guide and then go for practice test. I haven't taken any practice test yet. First i want to boost my confidence because i am not in touch of study since last 2 years.
