Hello All,
I am studying GMAT for the first time. Its just been a week since i picked up GMAT.
I would like to get some guidance on which books to refer and what study plan to follow.
Additionally do I need to take up coaching classes for GMAT or self study is possible? If coaching is required which tution providers are good?

Hi Simran,
Since you're just beginning your studies, it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can access 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have that Score, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.
I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

I was actually planning on attempting the Official Practice Test 1 after going through the quantitative and verbal syllabus. Because at the moment I do not remember most of the math formulas and stuff so I didn’t wanna waste the Official Practice Test unnecessarily.
And to answer the rest of your questions:
1) I am aiming a 750 score
2) I am planning on giving the exam by March End
3)I am planning on applying to the business school in Sept 2023. I am targeting Michigan Ross.
