This is my first try at the GMAT exam and i scored really low (480), in intend to take the exam again in a months time. Please does this result affect my future application or i have completely destroyed myself. I fell ill during the exam and now i feel like i can never get into a top business school again.

No, it will not effect your future applications. Focus on re-appearing in the GMAT.

Hey Deemario,
This result will not affect your future application. The nice thing about the GMAT is you get a couple of chances. But don't think of taking too many of them
And do not take the GMAT in a month's time. You will require at least three months of preparation before you can score in the range that top business schools require. Though you could do it in less time if you spend a substantial amount of time everyday.
