This essay has good basic structure however it is missing a true introduction. Your introduction should ideally lay out the conclusion the premise and the fact that the argument is flawed, but it should do so in the same tone as the rest of the essay. yours starts out as more of a statement. Also, your points are good but not fully developed. try working on a writing a topic sentence then 2-3 sentences of explanation then a closing sentence as a basic format for body paragraphs. overall I would rate this essay a 3 out of 6

The following appeared in an article in a consumer-electronics magazine:

"Company X's latest model of digital camera to be released next month, the TR12, is being promoted as the most portable, user-friendly digital camera available, and also an excellent bargain. It can be expected to live up to these claims, because Company X's previous model, the TR11, was universally lauded as setting the standard in these areas last year."

Discuss how well reasoned you find this argument. Point out flaws in the argument's logic and analyze the argument's underlying assumptions. In addition, evaluate how supporting evidence is used and what evidence might counter the argument's conclusion. You may also discuss what additional evidence could be used to strengthen the argument or what changes would make the argument more logically sound.

Company X's latest model TR12, which is being promoted as the most portable, user-friendly and a good bargain, is expected to live up to its claims. Reason being, Company X's previous model TR11, was praised as setting the standard in these parameters last year.

Having said that, the reason that Company X's previous model TR11 was a hit, is enough to ensure Company's next model TR12 to be a hit, is not digestible. In this argument the consumers psyche is assumed, that if consumer likes one product by a company he will definitely like the next product, and no evidence is provided for this kind of argument. Moreover model TR11 was lauded last year, which is quite an old reference to count on.

Furthermore, in this period the changes in the market trend, the models launched by competitors, new parameters considered by consumers are not considered which are some of the important aspects for the model TR12 to be a hit in market.

Apparently, if the author had presented with some statistics about the consumer behavior or consumer survey to back up his conclusion, it could have strengthened his argument. Also if author had mentioned some of the performance parameters like weight and volume of the camera model TR12 on which he claims about TR12 being most portable then it would make sense. Author fails to mention about the user interface provided in the camera and also its cost which weakens his claim of TR12 being user-friendly and best bargain digital camera available.
