Hi,
I am little bit late in my GMAT disorganized study plan, if we can call it a "study plan"...

I will try to make it short here is the story:
To make it short, I spent almost 150hrs (keeped time spent record) studying the GMAT since the end of August, mostly doing the gmat OG 12 (+ 2015 new) + Quant & Verbal books questions.
I finished all the OG 12 + OG Quant book.
I realized after taking my first CAT and reading multiple threads on this golden website that all these hours spent were unfortunately unproductive...!
This is how I first studyied on the GMAT:
- I didn't review the foundations/skills assuming I already knew some of them and that I will go through them by doing the maximum questions.
- I worked on all the sections (PS,DS,SC,CR,RC) at one time, finishing them one by one in the OG 12 book first.
- I just spent time on correction of questions I got wrong (OG book).
- I realy started to try to study everyday since 10/1...
- After I finished the OG 12th, I went through the Quant OG book and finished it (same way just correcting wrong questions...).
- On this first study without timing myself I got around 60-65% of good answers in quant and 50% in verbal.
The few good points:
- I made a small
error log and downloaded the xls
error log file of the OG 12th.
- I took notes of the formulas, key concepts to know, some exercices resolutions...
- I reviewed the concepts to know with a small "pocket reference" book of Kaplan.
- I used the GMAT notepad...
I took 2 GMATPrep CATs only on the two last weeks (11/02 & 12/11) and scored:
- 500 (Q34 V25) out of time guessing 10 questions in 1min both in quant and verbal (so a total of 20 questions). I did AWA and IR.
- 520 (Q39 V22) out of time guessing again in 1min at the end of each section 10 questions in quant and 5 questions in verbal. I did AWA and IR.
I realized that I try to solve questions which I don't have a clue or the good methodology/strategy resulting sometimes in spending 5min to 7min for some questions!
I make silly mistakes maybe because of the stress (basic calculations, not reading well the questions...).
What I did since few days ago and my plan for the next 14 days (I took 2 weeks off from work to give my best!):
- I restarted to do questions of the OG 12 from the 50th question in each section, each day (from 15 to 50 questions by section/day), but this time I read all the answers explanations even those I got correct. I plan to finish the OG 12 a 2nd time very soon (I read that OG was the bible, and can get a 650-720 score).
- I made a new
error log and do an analysis of my new/repeat errors compare to my last OG 12
error log.
- I started to time myself (not per question but per group of questions, like 30min max for 15 PS questions).
- I plan to finish a 2nd time the Quant book (same methodology) and do the max of SC,CR questions of the Verbal book.
- I plan to read the
MGMAT SC book (to get the strategy) while doing the OG 12 study.
- I plan to read some part of the
MGMAT math foundation and gmatclub quant/verbal pdf.
- I will do 2 other GMATPrep CATs (old cd I got before IR introduction to the test) + 1
MGMAT free CAT + Reset & redo 2 GMATPrep CATs.
- Test strategy: 15 first questions in each section do the best, if I don't know how to get the right answer -> best guess.
So as you understood I had not a real study plan...
On mid august I booked the test date for the end of november to motivate myself and to set a deadline.
My target score would be a 700-720.
I first thought to reschedule the exam, but finaly I don't want to reschedule it because I want to keep the motivation and do my best for the exam, even if there is only 14 days until the exam I know I can improve my score and reach the 650-710 by applying some strategies & tips.
I have full days of study time before the exam and I am not afraid of burnout

.
I am confident that I can get the score I want and will do everything to reach my target score, but I really would like to get it the first time and not loose all these precious hours spent studying.
Just a little about my background: French, Msc in quant finance, not bad at math generally.
One more thing I am starting to like to do GMAT questions

and I like reading GMAT success story on this forum to motivate me (I even printed some) and answering some Bunuel's quant questions!
So what would you recommend me for my next 14 days study plan / strategies in order to try to get this 700-710 score (even if it can sounds unrealistic to some....)???
Thank you for the feedbacks (I never wrote a post as big as this one !!!

I even hesitated to post it! gmat stresss...!

)
