Hi everyone,
I have 3 days to study before my first attempt at the GMAT and would really appreciate a read on my practice test scores and a suggestion on what to focus on. You can be sure I'll debrief here after I take my exam on Saturday.
Here are the CATs I've taken to date (earliest to latest) and my scores on them:
PR1 - 660 (42M, 40V)
PR2 - 690 (47M, 38V)
PR3 - 730 (48M, 43V)
GMATPrep 1 - 740 (47M, 46V)
GMATPrep 2 - 730 (47M, 44V)
PR4 - 690 (51M, 34V)
As you can see, my verbal score tanked in my last CAT, bringing my composite score down. I HAD been very confident about my verbal due to scoring 46 and 44 on the GMATPrep exams. Now, I am confused. Should I refocus on Verbal or continue working on Math (Princeton Review CATs seem to have easier math questions - hence the 51 on my last CAT)?
I am particularly interested in hearing your insight on how the real GMAT might differ from the GMATPreps I've already taken. Do you guys feel the 34V on the last PR CAT might not accurately reflect how I'll do on the actual exam? Or is it truly indicative of a weakness. (I got through the entire section, I just happened to miss like 10 questions instead of 3-4 as I usually do)
Also, I started on the Kaplan800 book this week. Are there any sections you would suggest avoiding in that book? I have heard that Kaplan verbal is a waste of time - does this also apply to the Kaplan800?
Thanks for your help, and good luck to everyone taking their test in the next few days!
James
