Hello GmatClub Team,
Want to confirm 1 small thing, our mock tests and our quiz have same question database right ?
Or we have any difference or recommendation? Any benefit of using 1 over other on the basis of question difficulty or question types?

Hi @bb , Is there a way to filter out duplicate attempts from the error log, Example - if there is a question i have attempted multiple time in past and now when I want to go through my mistakes again that question is reflecting multiple times in the log , so is there a way to filter hide duplicate question , I hope this will help others too.

Tests and quiz have diff question databases. More in quiz.

They serve diff purposes. Quiz is to practice particular topics and tests to practice timing and stamina.

Hi. There is a column called attempts and it shows 1 or a bigger number. That’s the place and there should a filter next to each one. There is no ability to get 2+ though isolated in a list because developers said it will overload the site (I am still trying to convince them to try doing it)

So if you see a 2 in that column you can then filter. Or you can download the log to excel and sort it there or feed to AI and ask it to pull these out.

Can we add filter to attemps ?

Thank you BB yeah I understand on the basis of purpose they differ but on the basis of difficulty we can't say anything right ?
BB Test are build by mixing all the sources including outside coaching or its just our unique question proprietary kind of thing? Asking this because I feel in quiz mostly trending questions are given in our weekly study plan so wanted to confirm if we can Guage difficulty between test and quiz... thanks for all your help and responses 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Tests use gmat club proprietor questions written by Bunuel and several other experts. These are our own questions.

In terms of difficulty, you need all difficulties to have a correct proper test but there are definitely many more difficult questions than in the GMAT prep for example. And often you’ll get more harder questions on your test than on gmat prep but the scoring algorithm handles that well.

You need hard questions in the test to improve accuracy of prediction and accuracy of measurement because if somebody takes a bunch of easy and medium questions you don’t really know their upper level so you need a good chunk of hard questions to get that determined. But you also need medium and easy in case the person is not scoring well to potentially determine their lower boundary and then the test tries to figure out and significantly reduce the upper and lower boundaries. This is Dunn through question picking and serving and at the very end. The test gives you a single score but in reality it’s kind of a range based on the certainty of the algorithm. On the Jim at prep that range is supposed to be plus minus one on each of the sections and that’s what we’re aiming on gmat Club’s new algorithm as well.

Thank you BB for such a detailed insightful response regarding the algo and score range... but I have one out of curiosity question on top of this...
BB, As we are tweaking and doing hit and trial with our algo. then we should have any rough ball park estimate as target to achieve right ? I mean to say anything like if someone have 2 wrong question in Quant he would get a score of 84 to 86 or something of that sort in each section....
If this is correct then could you please give that detail what would be the pessimistic range of score on the basis of wrong answer in each section if that is possible...

PS - Yesterday, I have asked this question in our ofc hours call but unfortunately we are unable to conclude on this anything... we all feel GMAT algo is weird and its unpredictable to get this kind of range if you have any insights on this it would be highly valuable specially for DI section 😅
Thanks !

As far as I got to know, everyone suggested me to go for official DI questions and if all official questions are utilized then next option is Gmat Club DI questions and other 3rd party questions are not that much recommended for DI section. Thanks!

If you make a mistake in the initial few questions then the penalty will be harsh?

Also, I saw a video mentioning that GMAC adds a few pilot questions to evaluate how the questions perform, and we are not scored on them. Based on that, the scoring can also be impacted.

Also how will be solve this question?
