Hi Guys,
Cracking GMAT requires more than just the 'fire in the heart'. During my preparation, I often found myself losing motivation because of reasons such as:
1. Extremely small no. of topics to master- You have to really apply yourself to master all of the topics for nailing the exam
2. Highly competitive- 700 is a passe! 730-740 is the new norm for top tier schools and hence, all the more reason to become perfect
3. Psychological pressure- Topics like Quant and Verbal are the ones for which most people have the psychological fear of failure deep embedded within. Most of us were not great in one of these subjects in our childhood and now there's no excuse. You have to get past over it and make it happen now!
4. Juggling with multiple priorities- This exam doesn't provides you with the luxury to prepare full time for it. Many people will balance multiple things including but not limited to a full time job, annoying boss/ coworkers, office politics, constant travel etc. etc. All this adds to the woes where you'll be drained out of your physical, mental and emotional energy and yet you'll have to study with those deadlines constantly glaring you in the eyes.
To keep oneself constantly motivated is extremely crucial and hence, I decided to organize all of the resources one can access during the course of study which will not only provide motivation to keep going but will give you some moments of respite to rejuvenate yourself and come back with revitalized vigor to study. (Errr...I just made a correlative conjunction error!)
Inspirational Movies:
1. Shawshank Redemption
2. Gattaca
3. October Sky
4. Steve Jobs
5. The pursuit of happyness
6. Forrest Gump
Some tub thumping music to rekindle that fire:
1. Eye of the Tiger
2. Final countdown
3. Hall of Fame- The Script
4. FIFA World Cup Anthem
Please pour in your inputs and I'll edit this list to make it more comprehensive.
