Hi jainp,

Most - if not all - of the questions from the Official GMAC practice CATs have already been discussed in the GMATClub forums. Thus, you would likely find it easiest to 'Google' the first several words of each prompt and you'll most likely be able to go directly to a discussion on each of those questions.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thank You. I did find some of the questions.

About my GMAT Plan:

1. I started studying for GMAT last year but had to stop preparing for it for a while. I picked up again 2 months back. I try to devote abut 18-20 hours a week.

2. QUANT: I am fairly good in quant and score between 48-50 on it. So I haven't devoted much time to it. I watched few YouTube videos to work on my weak areas. Although, I still at times struggle with Remainder Properties and Data Sufficiency questions on Inequality. How can I improve them?

VERBAL: I am pretty bad at verbal. My initial score in verbal was somewhere between 23-25. I took a Magoosh subscription and worked on SC concepts. I've done most of the topic and my accuracy is somewhere between 70-75% in it. For CR, I referred to Manhattan Guide. It did help me pull up my score, but I struggle with Inference questions. For RC, I haven't been able to devote much time to it. My accuracy is about 80% in Business related and easy to read topics. But I tend to get lost in passages on Philosophy, History and Astronomy.

INTEGRATED REASONING: I haven't prepared at all for IR. What resources should I use for it?

3. Last year when I gave my mocks I used to score somewhere around 630.

This year, since I started preparing, I have given 3 mocks

4 June 2020: Kaplan Mock - 630 (I don't have the breakup of Quant and Verbal)
15 June 2020: GMAT Official Mock 1- 670 (Q50, V31)
26 June 2020: GMAT Official Mock 3- 690 (Q48, V35)

4. My overall goal is to score 730+

5. I plan to give the exam by the end of July.

6. I plan to apply to this year to ISB, HEC Paris, LBS and other European B-schools.

Hi jainp,

When you were studying for the GMAT last year, did you take any of the Official GMAC practice CAT/mocks?

I ask because while the most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, retaking a CAT that you've already taken is NOT a realistic way to assess your skills - since you will likely see some 'repeat' questions that you have already faced. Unfortunately, seeing even a couple of repeats can 'throw off' the Scoring Algorithm and impact your pacing, energy levels, fatigue, etc. (meaning that they would likely all appear to be better than they actually are). Thankfully, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion) - so you can use any NEW CATs from any of those sources next.

Since you are interested in some highly-competitive Schools, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement.

There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

As to your individual questions:
-Most DS questions - along with Remainder and Inequality questions - can be solved with Quant Tactics, meaning that you don't have to do a lot of high-level math to get them correct, but you do have to properly work through some basic calculations and steps on your pad.
-Integrated Reasoning involves a lot of skills that you can use to solve CR questions in the Verbal section (with a bit of RC-based note-taking and some math/Quant Tactics occasionally thrown in). Thus, honing specific skills for the Quant and Verbal sections should help you to score higher in IR (although it's worth noting that many Schools place little-to-no emphasis on an Applicant's IR Score).
