Taking test 1 four times isn't the same as taking tests 1 and 2 twice each since each test pulls from its pool of questions. Mixing both up is a better strategy to keep things fresh and avoid memorizing answers.

Interesting point. I have not done this experiment to see if tests 1 and 2 use separate bank or same one but I agree with you - it is not super critical if it is the same or separate as you will start seeing repeat questions at some point, so just take the tests until that point.

And yes, the accuracy slightly declines EVEN if you are not seeing repeat questions that's because you need a good size of a database to achieve a more accurate result with many degrees of difficulties.

Official Practice Exams 1 & 2 share the same question pool. The answer for your last question is YES. Taking Exam 1 four times is same as taking 1 & 2 two times each.

I wouldn't suggest taking Official Practice Exams more than 4 times. Even in your 3rd & 4th attempt you may get 20% to 30% repeat questions in each section. But that's okay. After 4 attempts, you will get most of the questions repeated, which might inflate your score much.

The difficulty level of questions, especially in quants, is higher in other mock exams like GMAT club tests and Experts Global. That might be the reason for lower scores in other mocks.

I strongly recommend you to purchase Official Practice Exams 3 to 6. Each purchased exam will give you two attempts so totally 12 mock exams, which reflects the real GMAT questions experience. No other mock exams can give you the same experience, though their higher difficulty levels are a good practice. If you are tight on budget, you can purchase Exams 3 & 4 for $60. This might even save you another GMAT attempt which is $275, if you utilize is efficiently.
Hey! Thanks for your advice.

But I read somewhere that the question pool for exams 3-6 is much smaller than that for exams 1-2. So wouldn't retaking exams 3-4 even once result in the questions being repeated, which will result in an inflated score?
You can repeat each of those exams one time and see fresh questions.

I'm sure the question pools are different for each official test, including Tests 1 and 2. You won't get any repeats if you retake each of them once. A second retake could throw up some repeats, however.
