As the title says, my GMTA online score (760: Q50 V44) on 15th March was under review & I was told it was quite a routine thing for people getting a good score in the online mode.
And just now, GMAC has cancelled it. I have my application deadline on 11th April & don't have time to prepare for the test.
I didn't do anything before confirming with the proctor & complied with everything that was being told to me. I had a couple of disruptions for which I couldn't do much.
1. My laptop has a janky touchpad and keyboard, so I had confirmed with the proctor if I could use an external keyboard & mouse. Despite that, when she told me not to use the mouse, I complied & somehow made do with the touchpad.
2. Further, in IR, after the first question, my test got closed for some reason confirming yes to move to the next question. I didn't know what had happened & immediately informed the proctor.
3. I had a close family member critical in the hospital, so I was tense the entire day. I don't know if that did something I cannot do about this.
There are two possible ways I can see this go:
1. I appeal my current score with GMAC & wait for their decision. In this too I haven't been told what they are sceptical about my test attempt & by when they would respond to the repeal.
2. I would need to travel 5 hrs from my institute to the nearest test centre & then give my attempt with virtually 0 prep time since I am too occupied with my applications & academia
3. I can appeal & give the test centre attempt meanwhile.
But I am in utter chaos about what to do next and would appreciate some advice.
Thanks
P.S. (Personal Rant Please Ignore) After spending more than a year preparing for this exam with 2 not so great previous attempts and completely ruining my social life, all my efforts seem to go for nothing. If this is how GMAT is for everybody I fear suggesting anyone go for it & go for GRE instead.
