This was my first online exam experience. Had a bad experience with the online GMAT Exam. Scheduled to take it today at 2:30pm. After checking in at 2:00pm and completed the process, I started the test at 2:30 pm.
However, 10 minutes into the exam, the proctor stopped my exam and it took 30 mins again to resume after a series of "errors." Proctor wasn't helpful at this point even though I clicked the help or chat button. I knew at that point that I was doing poorly with the exam because of the distractions.
I finished the quant session but was already tired because of the disruptive proctors.
At the 14th question of Verbal, the new proctor said she can't see my camera and pestered me to turn off my computer to exit the program on my end since they can only do 2 shutdowns on their end. After shutting it down, I turned on the program again but the proctor still can't see my camera.
I was already exasperated so I told her that I want to reschedule the exam if there are still disruptions.
She canceled my exam and will raise a case for me to be able to reschedule. I doubt this will be resolved quickly though.
Any tips on how to move forward and get a new schedule? Has this happened to anyone else? 5 months of studying for the GMAT down the drain...

A silver lining in all this is that you didn't complete the entire exam and the proctor cancelled it. At least this way you probably won't lose an online attempt this way, you will get essentially a free retake, and you will (hopefully) have a better testing experience next time.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the At-home GMAT - and that must be incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, a certain percentage of GMATers have experienced technical issues with their At-home Exams. Since there's no way to know how quickly all of this will be taken care of so that you can retest, we should look to use your existing time (while you wait) to your advantage.
We last discussed your studies a little over 2 months ago, so it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying since then:
1) What type of study routine have you been following?
2) What study materials have you been using over the last 2 months?
3) Over the last 2 months, on what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
