I took the GMAT for the first time online.
As I have decided to retake the exam - again online (provided I have good network connectivity), sharing a few quick points about the exam and why I prefer the Online exam over the Test Centre
1. Convenience - Especially if you are in a larger city and will need to do a lot of travelling on test day to simply reach the centre. For the broadband, I used an ethernet connection over wifi as it was more reliable and offered greater speed.
2. Scheduling the test - There is greater flexibility and more time slots available online in my region. I was easily able to book a slot for two days later
3. I also didn't use the online whiteboard, and instead bought a physical one. You can refer to the GMAC website for size specification and any other requirements. The online proctor will ask to see the physical board, before and after each section, and finally once before ending the exam. I tried making a note of the unofficial score on the screen, but was not allowed to do so
4. Water was only allowed in a transparent glass. I had kept some light snacks also in the room, and was asked to keep them out of reach during the exam
Please make sure you thoroughly go through all the instructions for an online exam on the official website. All the best!
